EDG-3는 sphingosine-1-phosphate를 리간드로 하는 G-단백질 결합 수용체(GPCR) 계열의 단백질로, 세포 증식, 분화, 생존, 세포골격 관련 반응(수축, 분비, 부착, 화학주성 등)을 매개합니다.
EDG 수용체는 조직 특이적으로 발현되며, 다양한 G 단백질과 결합하여 Ras, MAP kinase, Rho, phospholipase C, protein tyrosine kinase 등의 신호 경로를 통해 작용합니다.
