Description:
The 390 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD31 (PECAM-1, gpIIa), a 130–140 kDa surface protein expressed on endothelial cells and at low levels on leukocytes and platelets. CD31 mediates homotypic interactions important for adhesion, cell-cell and cell-matrix communication, and intracellular signaling.

Reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse thymocytes and splenocytes. Recommended usage ≤ 0.5 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Cell number may range from 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Titrate for optimal performance.

Target Information
CD31 (platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1, PECAM-1) is an inhibitory coreceptor regulating T and B cell signaling via ITIM motifs that recruit protein-tyrosine phosphatases. It is expressed throughout the vascular system, mainly at cell junctions. The N-terminal Ig-like domain mediates homophilic binding, essential for cell-cell interactions. CD31 plays roles in integrin-mediated adhesion, transendothelial migration, angiogenesis, apoptosis, immune regulation, and thrombosis, acting as a key regulator in vascular biology.
