RUVBL2는 single-stranded DNA-stimulated ATPase 및 ATP-dependent DNA helicase (5'→3') 활성을 가지며, NuA4 histone acetyltransferase complex의 구성 요소로서 특정 유전자의 전사 활성화에 관여합니다. 이 복합체는 히스톤 H4 및 H2A의 아세틸화를 통해 전사 조절 단백질과의 상호작용을 촉진합니다. 또한 DNA 손상 부위에서 DNA 수선 과정에 직접적으로 작용할 수 있습니다. RUVBL2는 MYC에 의한 종양 형성에 필수적이며, LEF1/TCF1-CTNNB1 복합체에 의한 전사 활성화를 조절하고 ATF2의 전사 활성화를 억제할 수 있습니다.
