This antibody recognizes murine CD98, a heterodimeric cell surface glycoprotein.
Target Information
CD98 (4F2) is a type II transmembrane glycoprotein that serves as the heavy chain of heterodimeric amino acid transporters (HATs). CD98 forms disulfide bonds with various light chains, enabling cell surface expression and basolateral localization of the transporter complex in polarized epithelial cells. It also interacts with β1 integrins, enhancing their ligand affinity. Beyond amino acid transport, CD98 is involved in cell fusion, activation, and regulation of cellular differentiation, growth, and apoptosis.
