Target Information
The VSNL1 gene encodes a member of the visinin/recoverin subfamily of neuronal calcium sensor proteins.
This protein is highly expressed in cerebellar granule cells, associates with membranes in a calcium-dependent manner, and modulates intracellular signaling pathways by regulating adenylyl cyclase activity.
Alternative splicing variants have been observed, though their full-length forms are not fully characterized.
