Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human MIP-1α (CCL3). Anti-Human MIP-1α (CCL3)-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human MIP-1α by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human MIP-1α (500-P38) as a capture antibody, allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human MIP-1α.

Western Blot:
To detect Human MIP-1α by Western Blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. When used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Human MIP-1α is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Both MIP-1α and MIP-1β are structurally and functionally related CC chemokines that participate in host response to bacterial, viral, parasite, and fungal pathogens by regulating the trafficking and activation of inflammatory cells such as macrophages, lymphocytes, and NK cells.
MIP-1α selectively attracts CD8+ lymphocytes, while MIP-1β attracts CD4+ lymphocytes. Both chemokines are potent chemoattractants for B cells, eosinophils, and dendritic cells, and are active on human and murine hematopoietic cells.
