- Recommended positive control: mouse small intestine tissue lysate
- At least two isoforms of GLIPR1 are known to exist; this antibody detects both isoforms.
- Not expected to cross-react with other GLIPR or GLIPR-like proteins.
Target Information
The glioma pathogenesis-related protein 1 (GLIPR1) shares similarity with the pathogenesis-related protein (PR) superfamily and the cysteine-rich secretory protein (CRISP) family.
GLIPR1 functions as a tumor suppressor regulated by p53. Increased expression is associated with myelomocytic differentiation in macrophages, while decreased expression due to gene methylation is linked to prostate cancer.
GLIPR1 is part of a p53 target gene cluster that includes GLIPR1L1 and GLIPR1L2, which are highly homologous proteins with distinct expression patterns.
