Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform another round of desalting (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).


Target Information

The CDKN2A gene produces multiple transcript variants differing in their first exons. At least three alternatively spliced variants encode distinct proteins, two of which function as inhibitors of CDK4 kinase.
Another transcript includes an alternate first exon located 20 Kb upstream, encoding the ARF protein that stabilizes the tumor suppressor p53 by interacting with and sequestering MDM2.
Despite structural and functional differences, both CDK inhibitor isoforms and the ARF product regulate G1 cell cycle progression through CDK4 and p53 pathways.
Mutations or deletions in this gene are common in various tumors, highlighting its role as a key tumor suppressor gene.
