Target Information
The Cdc45L protein is homologous to Saccharomyces cerevisiae Cdc45, an essential protein for the initiation of DNA replication. It is part of a conserved multiprotein complex including Cdc6/Cdc18, MCM proteins, and DNA polymerase, crucial for early steps of DNA replication in eukaryotes.
Cdc45 interacts with MCM7 and DNA polymerase alpha, and studies in Xenopus indicate its role in loading DNA polymerase alpha onto chromatin. Multiple polyadenylation sites have been reported for this gene.
