Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a nuclear hormone receptor for triiodothyronine. It is one of several receptors for thyroid hormone and mediates the biological activities of thyroid hormone. Mouse knockout studies suggest that different receptors may mediate distinct functions of thyroid hormone, despite some redundancy. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.
