Product Specific Information

The HIP1 monoclonal antibody reacts with the human CD42b molecule, a 135 kDa transmembrane protein also known as platelet gpIb.

Each product contains:

• 1 vial of NovaFluor conjugate
• 1 vial of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of human platelets.
Recommended use: 5 µL (0.5 µg) per test in 100 µL final volume. Cell number may vary from 10⁵ to 10⁸ cells/test.

Important Notes:

• NovaFluor dyes are not compatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (e.g., propidium iodide, 7-AAD, DAPI).
• Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains with NovaFluor dyes.
• CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01) is required for optimal staining with NovaFluor conjugates.
• Add 5 µL per sample to antibody cocktails before combining with cells.

NovaFluor conjugates utilize Phiton™ technology with engineered fluorescent signatures minimizing spillover and spread impacts.

Target Information

CD42b is a platelet activation marker involved in coagulation and platelet aggregation. It interacts with extracellular matrix and adhesion molecules and forms part of the GPIb-IX-V receptor complex, crucial for platelet tethering at vascular injury sites. CD42b binds to von Willebrand factor, thrombin, coagulation factors XI/XII, and other molecules. It is expressed on platelets and megakaryocytes, with mutations linked to Bernard-Soulier syndrome and platelet-type von Willebrand disease.
