Product Specific Information

The HIP1 monoclonal antibody reacts with the human CD42b molecule (platelet gpIb), a 135 kDa transmembrane protein.
Each product contains one vial of NovaFluor conjugate and one vial of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer.

• Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and validated on human platelets
  • Use 5 µL (0.5 µg) per test
  • One test = antibody amount for 100 µL final volume
  • Suitable for 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test

Important Notes:

• NovaFluor dyes are not compatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (e.g., propidium iodide, 7-AAD, DAPI).
• Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains with NovaFluor dyes.
• CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01) is required for optimal staining.
  • Add 5 µL per sample before combining with cells.
  • For single-color controls, use 5 µL per 100 µL cell sample (10³–10⁸ cells).
• NovaFluor conjugates use Phiton™ technology, providing engineered fluorescent signatures optimized for minimal spillover and spread.

Target Information

CD42b is a platelet activation marker involved in coagulation and platelet aggregation. It forms part of the GPIb-IX-V receptor complex, essential for platelet tethering to thrombogenic surfaces.
CD42b binds to von Willebrand factor (VWF), thrombin, coagulation factors XI/XII, and other adhesion molecules.
It is expressed on platelets and megakaryocytes in bone marrow.
Mutations in CD42b are associated with Bernard-Soulier syndrome and platelet-type von Willebrand disease.
