Product Specific Information
This antibody shows less than 5% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse (rm) IL-1 beta / IL-1F2 and recombinant porcine IL-1 beta / IL-1F2, and no cross-reactivity with recombinant rat (rr) IL-1 beta / IL-1F2, rmIL-1 alpha, recombinant human IL-1ra, rmIL-1ra, or rrIL-1 alpha.
Target Information
Interleukin-1 beta (IL-1 beta) is a proinflammatory cytokine expressed by monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. It is synthesized as a 31 kDa inactive pro-form that accumulates in the cytosol and is cleaved into an active 17 kDa form via inflammasome activation. IL-1 beta signals through IL-1RI and IL-1RII, shared with IL-1 alpha, and is regulated by IL-1 Receptor Antagonist (IL-1RA). It plays a critical role in innate host defense and inflammatory responses, with elevated levels linked to chronic inflammatory conditions.
