In direct ELISAs, no cross-reactivity with recombinant human (rh) IL-2, recombinant mouse IL-15, or rhIL-21 is observed.
Target Information
IL-15 (Interleukin 15) is a cytokine that regulates T and natural killer (NK) cell activation and proliferation.
IL-15 and IL-2 share common receptor subunits and may compete for binding, thereby modulating each other’s activity.
IL-15 activates JAK kinases and transcription factors STAT3, STAT5, and STAT6, influencing apoptosis inhibition (e.g., Bcl-xL expression) and lymphocyte differentiation.
It plays a critical role in immune responses, allograft rejection, and autoimmune disease pathogenesis.
IL-15 is also implicated in inflammatory disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and pulmonary inflammation, and may serve as a therapeutic target for these conditions.
