Target Information
PTK2B (FAK2) is a cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase involved in calcium-induced regulation of ion channels and activation of the MAP kinase signaling pathway. It regulates actin cytoskeleton reorganization, cell polarization, migration, adhesion, spreading, and bone remodeling.
FAK2 contributes to the humoral immune response and normal splenic B-cell migration. It mediates signaling downstream of integrin, collagen, immune, G-protein coupled, cytokine, chemokine, and growth factor receptors, and responds to cellular stress.
Aberrant FAK2 expression may promote cancer cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, with elevated levels observed in gliomas, hepatocellular carcinoma, lung, and breast cancers.
