Despite the predicted molecular weight, LKB1 often migrates at a higher molecular weight in SDS-PAGE.
A suggested positive control is PC-3 cell lysate.

Target Information
LKB1 (also known as STK11 - Serine/threonine-protein kinase STK11) is a tumor suppressor belonging to the serine/threonine kinase family.
LKB1 associates with p53 and regulates p53-dependent apoptosis pathways.
It is present in both the cytoplasm and nucleus and translocates to mitochondria during apoptosis.
LKB1 acts as a master upstream kinase, regulating AMPK and AMPK-related kinases.
Mutations in the LKB1 gene are associated with Peutz-Jeghers syndrome.
