Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Goat Serum and purified GFP (Aequorea victoria).
No cross-reactivity observed with Human, Mouse, or Rat serum proteins.

Target Information

The jellyfish Aequorea victoria produces Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP), which emits green light in bioluminescence reactions. GFP is widely used:

• As a reporter for gene expression in eukaryotic and prokaryotic systems
• As a protein tag for localization and movement studies
• In FRET and yeast two-hybrid assays for protein-protein interaction studies

GFP is a 27 kDa monomeric protein that forms its fluorescent pigment autocatalytically.
It absorbs blue light (395 nm) and emits green light (508 nm).
Its fluorescence is stable, species-independent, and suitable for diverse applications.
