Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone (GHRH) is a hypothalamic peptide belonging to the VIP/PACAP family. It binds to G-protein coupled receptors to stimulate secretion and synthesis of growth hormone (GH).
GHRH receptor proteins are found on the plasma membrane of primary human tumor cells and are thought to contribute to the growth of various cancer cells.
