Target Information
MAP4K4 (HGK) is a serine/threonine kinase involved in stress-activated MAPK signaling pathways and responses to environmental stress and cytokines such as TNF-alpha. It acts upstream of the JUN N-terminal pathway and interacts with adapter proteins Nck via its SH3 domain. HGK binds through its CNH regulatory domain to the N-terminal region of SPG3A. Expression is ubiquitous across tissue types; isoform 5 is abundant in the brain, while isoform 4 is predominant in liver, skeletal muscle, and placenta.
