Product Specific Information

• Reconstitute with 1 mL of distilled water.
• After reconstitution, store undiluted at 4°C in the dark.
• For FACS analysis, use 10 µL of the suggested working dilution to label 1×10⁶ cells in 100 µL.
• Mouse anti-Sheep CD4 antibody (clone 44.38) recognizes ovine CD4 cell surface glycoprotein expressed by a subset of mature T lymphocytes.

Target Information

CD4 antigen is involved in the recognition of MHC class II molecules and serves as a co-receptor for HIV. It is primarily expressed in T helper lymphocytes, but also found in monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. CD4 expression is detectable in thymus, lymph nodes, tonsils, spleen, and specific regions of the brain and gut. It plays a role in T-cell activation via association with the T-cell receptor complex and Lck kinase, and may mediate neuronal damage in immune-related CNS diseases. Multiple alternatively spliced transcripts have been identified (RefSeq, July 2017).
