Target Information

ITGA3 (Integrin α3), also called CD49C, VLA3, or GAPB3, is encoded by the ITGA3 gene in humans.
This integrin α subunit is part of the cell surface adhesion molecule family and is mapped to chromosome 17q21.33.
ITGA3 forms half of the α3β1 integrin complex, involved in neural migration and corticogenesis alongside the β1 subunit.
A functional link between DAB1 phosphorylation and ITGA3 signaling regulates neuronal detachment from radial glial fibers.
Expression of human ITGA3 increases viral infectivity in Chinese hamster ovary cells.
ITGA3 contains 13 potential N-glycosylation sites, 2 potential cleavage sites, and 7 N-terminal repeating units typical of integrins.
Recombinant ITGA3 is expressed as a 150 kDa protein, identical in size to the native form by western blot analysis.
