Product Specific Information
- This antibody does not detect PARP from chicken tissues.
- By Western blot, it recognizes a 116 kDa PARP protein and an 85 kDa apoptosis-induced cleavage product of prICE and CPP32 from rat thymus extract.
- The recognized epitope is located between amino acids 216–375 in the DNA-binding domain of PARP.
Target Information
Poly ADP-Ribose Polymerase (PARP) uses nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) as a substrate to catalyze the transfer of ADP-ribose to various nuclear proteins.
Proteolysis of PARP to its stable 85 kDa fragment is an early marker of apoptosis mediated by caspase CPP32.
Cleavage occurs between Asp216 and Gly217, a conserved site across species.
