Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step.
Recommended desalting column: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL (Product # 89882).

Target Information

Transglutaminase (TGase) catalyzes protein crosslinking by forming ε-(γ-glutamyl) lysine isopeptide bonds and requires Ca²⁺ binding for activity.
In mammals, eight distinct TGase isoenzymes are known. Tissue transglutaminase (tTGase, TGase 2) contains four domains: N-terminal β-sandwich, catalytic core, and two C-terminal β-barrel domains.
tTGase is implicated in cell death, proliferation, differentiation, and receptor-mediated endocytosis.
In Alzheimer’s disease, elevated tTGase activity leads to polymerization of proteins such as Aβ peptide, β-amyloid precursor protein, and tau, forming neurofibrillary tangles.
