Target Information
Stearoyl-CoA desaturase (SCD; EC 1.14.99.5)는 불포화 지방산 합성의 속도 제한 단계(rate-limiting step)를 촉매하는 철 함유 효소입니다. 주요 생성물은 스테아르산의 불포화화 반응으로 형성되는 올레산입니다. 스테아르산과 올레산의 비율은 세포막 유동성과 신호전달에 영향을 주어 세포 성장과 분화 조절에 관여합니다.
마우스에서는 Scd1~Scd4의 4가지 isoform이 확인되었으며, 인간에서는 SCD1과 SCD5 두 가지 isoform이 존재합니다. SCD1은 모든 마우스 SCD isoform 및 랫의 Scd1, Scd2와 약 85%의 아미노산 서열 유사성을 가지며, SCD5는 영장류에 특이적으로 존재합니다.
