MCRS1은 DAXX의 전사 억제 활성 조절에 관여하며, NSL 복합체의 일부로 히스톤 H4의 여러 라이신 잔기 아세틸화에 관여할 수 있습니다. 또한 INO80 크로마틴 리모델링 복합체의 조절 구성 요소로 작용하여 전사 조절, DNA 복제 및 수선에 관여합니다. TERT 텔로머레이스 활성을 억제할 수 있으며, G-quadruplex 구조 및 RNA homopolymer poly(G), poly(U)에 결합합니다.
