Target Information
PAI1 (plasminogen activator inhibitor 1)는 serine protease inhibitor 슈퍼패밀리에 속하며, tissue-type 및 urokinase-type plasminogen activators (tPA, uPA)의 주요 억제제입니다.
Platelets는 순환 중 PAI1의 주요 공급원이지만, fibroblasts, smooth muscle cells, endothelial cells, hepatocytes, inflammatory cells 등 다양한 조직과 세포에서 합성 및 분비됩니다.
PAI1의 발현은 성장인자, 사이토카인, 호르몬, 염증 인자, 대사물질, 혈관조절인자, 화학물질 등 다양한 요인에 의해 조절됩니다.
PAI1은 여러 질병 상태에서 증가하며, 비만, 혈전증, 대사증후군 등에서 혈전 발생 증가와 관련이 있습니다.
PAI1 결함은 비정상적인 출혈을 특징으로 하며, fibrinolysis 억제를 매개하고 신경세포 생존을 촉진할 수 있습니다.
또한, PAI1 결함은 plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 deficiency(PAI-1 deficiency)의 원인이 됩니다.
PAI1은 다양한 isoform을 암호화하는 alternative splicing transcript variants를 포함합니다.
