Product Specific Information
Description:
The HIS47 monoclonal antibody reacts with rat CD5, a 67 kDa surface protein expressed by most thymocytes and mature T cells. Unlike mouse and human CD5, the CD5⁺ B cell subset has not been identified in rats. CD5 acts as a counter-receptor for CD72 and plays a role in T-B cell interactions.
Applications Reported:
This HIS47 antibody is reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of rat splenocytes. Recommended usage is ≤ 0.25 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Cell number can range from 10⁵ to 10⁸ cells/test. Antibody titration is recommended for optimal performance.
Optical Properties:
- Excitation: 633–647 nm
- Emission: 660 nm
- Laser: Red Laser
Filtration:
0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Target Information
CD5 is a 67 kDa single-chain transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on human T-lymphocytes, thymocytes, and subsets of activated B cells. It is involved in regulating T-cell proliferation and is associated with various T-cell leukemias and lymphomas. CD5 expression is high in thymocytes (95%) and peripheral blood lymphocytes (72%), with main reactivity in T cell areas of lymph nodes. Diseases linked to CD5 dysfunction include thymus cancer and Richter’s Syndrome.
