Product Specific Information
The L17F12 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD5, a 67 kDa protein expressed by most thymocytes, mature T cells, and a subset of B cells. CD5 signaling activates T cells and mediates T-B interactions through binding to CD72 on B cells.
- Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
- Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometry on normal human peripheral blood cells
- Recommended use: 5 µL (0.03 µg) per test
- Test definition: Antibody amount sufficient for staining a 100 µL cell sample
- Cell number: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test (empirically determined)
- Excitation: 633–647 nm
- Emission: 660 nm
- Laser: Red Laser
- Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered
Target Information
CD5 is a 67 kDa single-chain transmembrane glycoprotein found on all mature T-lymphocytes, most thymocytes, and many T-cell leukemias and lymphomas. It also appears on a subset of activated B-cells and may regulate T-cell proliferation. CD5 is expressed on approximately 95% of thymocytes and 72% of peripheral blood lymphocytes, with strong reactivity in T-cell areas of lymph nodes. Aberrant CD5 expression is associated with thymus cancer and Richter’s Syndrome.
