Mouse anti-Pig CD163 antibody, clone 2A10/11 recognizes porcine CD163, an approximately 120 kDa single-pass type I transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on cells of the monocyte/macrophage lineage.
Target Information
CD163 (M130 antigen, Ber-Mac3, Ki-M8, SM4) is a 130 kDa membrane glycoprotein and a member of the scavenger receptor cysteine-rich superfamily. It acts as a receptor for the hemoglobin-haptoglobin complex, protecting tissues from oxidative damage and facilitating iron recycling. CD163 is expressed on monocytes and macrophages, upregulated by IL-10, IL-6, and dexamethasone, and shed from the cell surface upon LPS or PMA stimulation. It binds hemoglobin/haptoglobin complexes in a calcium- and pH-dependent manner, with higher affinity for multimeric haptoglobin complexes. CD163 signaling involves tyrosine kinase-dependent calcium mobilization, inositol triphosphate production, and secretion of IL6 and CSF1.
