This antibody specifically detects human and mouse AKT phosphorylated at T308. BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity with AKT pT308 from most vertebrate species based on 100% homology with the immunizing sequence. Cross-reactivity with AKT2 and AKT3 is likely.
Target Information
AKT1 (PKB alpha) is a serine/threonine kinase regulating cell survival and proliferation. It inhibits apoptosis and promotes cell cycle progression by phosphorylating various targets. Activated by insulin, PI3K, IGF1, and other growth factors, AKT1 plays a key role in cancer cell survival and is a major target for cancer drug discovery.
