Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. Product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

This affinity purified antibody is directed against the mouse LDB1 protein. BLAST analysis suggests reactivity with LDB1 from mouse, human, chimpanzee, dog, frog, chicken, and rat based on 100% homology for the immunogen sequence. Cross-reactivity with other homologues has not been determined.

Target Information

LIM domain-binding protein 1 (LDB1), also known as Carboxyl-terminal LIM domain-binding protein 2 (CLIM2), binds to the LIM domain of various LIM domain-containing transcription factors. LDB1 regulates transcriptional activity of LIM-containing proteins by determining specific partner interactions. It is involved in the development of interneurons and motor neurons in cooperation with LHX3 and ISL1, and acts synergistically with LHX1/LIM1 in axis formation and gene activation. LDB1 also interacts with LMO2 to regulate red blood cell development, maintaining erythroid precursors in an immature state. It strongly interacts with the LIM2 domain of LMX1A to form homodimers. LDB1 is expressed in multiple adult tissues including brain, heart, skeletal muscle, colon, thymus, spleen, kidney, liver, small intestine, lung, and peripheral blood leukocytes. Three isoforms exist due to alternative splicing.
