Target Information
KRT16은 케라틴 유전자 패밀리에 속하며, 상피세포의 구조적 안정성을 담당하는 중간 필라멘트 단백질입니다. 대부분의 type I cytokeratin은 산성 단백질로 구성되어 있으며, 이들은 이형적 케라틴 사슬로 짝을 이루어 염색체 17q12–q21 영역에 군집되어 있습니다. KRT16은 식도, 혀, 모낭 등 여러 상피 조직에서 케라틴 14와 함께 발현됩니다. 이 유전자의 돌연변이는 type 1 pachyonychia congenita, non-epidermolytic palmoplantar keratoderma 및 unilateral palmoplantar verrucous nevus와 관련이 있습니다.
