Target Information
Thrombomodulin (TM), also known as Fetomodulin (FM), endothelial anticoagulant protein, or glycoprotein P112, contains six repeated domains homologous with EGF and an amino-terminal domain homologous to lectin-like protein. It accelerates activation of protein C, contributing to thrombo-resistance and reducing clot formation on endothelial surfaces.
Immunohistochemical staining of formalin-fixed tissue for TM is used to study vascular tumors, meningiomas, and choriocarcinomas.
