This antibody reacts with HIV-1 p24 subtypes B, C, and A, and has been mapped to the C-terminus (amino acids 165–231).
This clone may also be referred to as N13 (05-006).
Target Information
HIV-1 Gag p24 is a capsid protein that forms the core of the AIDS virus HIV-1. It is produced by the cleavage of the precursor Gag p55 by HIV-1 protease. The HIV-1 Gag p24 protein is essential for virus assembly and replication.
It is detectable from the early stages of HIV-1 infection and serves as a marker for monitoring disease progression and treatment response, as it reflects viral load in the blood.
