This antibody reacts with HIV-1 p24 subtype B, C, and A.
It has been mapped to amino acids 74–84 (NEEAAEWDRVH – B subtype consensus).
This clone may also be referred to as 2N34 (05-008).
Target Information
HIV-1 Gag p24 is a capsid protein forming the core of the AIDS virus HIV-1. It is produced by digestion of its precursor Gag p55 by HIV-1 protease. The HIV-1 Gag p24 protein is essential for virus replication and particle assembly. It is detectable from the early stage of infection and serves as a marker for monitoring disease progression and viral load after treatment.
