This antibody recognizes an extracellular epitope of the CD106 antigen (VCAM-1), a 100–110 kDa type I membrane protein of the immunoglobulin superfamily. VCAM-1 serves as a key mediator of leukocyte adhesion and acts as a costimulatory molecule in immune responses.
Target Information
VCAM-1 is a cell surface sialoglycoprotein expressed by cytokine-activated endothelium. It regulates leukocyte migration, leukocyte-endothelial adhesion, and signal transduction, and may play a role in various inflammatory diseases.
