This antibody recognizes an extracellular epitope of the CD106 antigen (VCAM-1), a 100–110 kDa type I membrane protein of the immunoglobulin superfamily. VCAM-1 is a crucial mediator of leukocyte adhesion and functions as a costimulation molecule.
Note: For Immunohistochemistry (Frozen), acetone fixation is recommended.
Target Information
VCAM-1 (Vascular Cell Adhesion Molecule 1) is a cell surface sialoglycoprotein expressed by cytokine-activated endothelium. It plays roles in leukocyte migration, leukocyte-endothelial adhesion, and signal transduction, and may be involved in inflammatory diseases.
