Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

The antiserum is directed against the extracellular domain of the cell-bound human TNFRp55. In general, this antibody also detects primate sTNFRp55 but does not recognize human sTNFRp75.
In ELISA and other immunoreactive assays, this antibody detects the extracellular domain of TNFRp55 found in human body fluids such as circulation, urine, cell supernatants, and synovial fluid.

Target Information

TNFR1 (Tumor necrosis factor receptor 1) belongs to the tumor necrosis factor superfamily and is one of the major TNF-alpha receptors. TNFR1 plays a key role in cytokine-mediated signaling, positive regulation of the NF-κB pathway, angiogenesis, and negative regulation of gene expression.
The extracellular domain of TNFR1 is released into the circulatory system as soluble TNFR1 (sTNFR1). In humans, the TNFR1 gene is located on chromosome 12.
Proteins such as BAG4/SODD, TRADD, and TRAF2 interact with TNFR1, regulating its signal transduction. Germline mutations in the extracellular domain of TNFR1 are associated with autosomal dominant periodic fever syndrome, with impaired receptor clearance as a possible mechanism.
