Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of FADD only when phosphorylated at Ser194.
Target Information
The FADD protein is an adaptor molecule that interacts with various cell surface receptors to mediate apoptotic signaling. Through its C-terminal death domain, it can be recruited by receptors such as TNFRSF6/Fas, TNFRSF25, and TNFSF10/TRAIL, participating in death signaling pathways. Interaction with these receptors exposes the N-terminal effector domain, enabling recruitment of caspase-8 and activation of the cysteine protease cascade. Knockout studies in mice indicate its importance in early T cell development.
