Product Specific Information
MA5-15319 targets IKBKB in indirect ELISA and WB applications, showing reactivity with human samples.
The immunogen used for MA5-15319 is a purified recombinant fragment of IKBKB expressed in E. coli.
Target Information
Phosphorylation of serine residues on IκB proteins by IKK kinases, including IKBKB, marks them for degradation via the ubiquitination pathway, enabling activation of the NF-κB complex.
IKK beta (IKBKB) is a serine kinase essential for the NF-κB signaling pathway, activated by inflammatory cytokines, bacterial or viral products, DNA damage, and other cellular stresses.
It functions as part of the canonical IKK complex, phosphorylating inhibitors of NF-κB on critical serine residues, leading to their polyubiquitination and proteasomal degradation.
This process releases NF-κB, allowing it to enter the nucleus and activate transcription of genes involved in immune response, growth control, and anti-apoptotic mechanisms.
Mutations in the IKBKB gene can cause Immunodeficiency 15 (IMD15).
