Product Specific Information
Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 1mM EDTA buffer (pH 8.0) for 10 minutes, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes. After antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 10 minutes at room temperature. Tonsil tissue is suggested as a positive control.
Target Information
FOXP1 belongs to subfamily P of the forkhead box (FOX) transcription factor family. These transcription factors regulate tissue- and cell type-specific gene expression during development and adulthood. FOXP1 protein contains both DNA-binding and protein-protein interaction domains. It may function as a tumor suppressor, as loss of expression has been observed in several tumor types. The gene is located at chromosomal region 3p14.1, which is associated with tumor suppressor activity. Alternative splicing produces multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
