Target Information
FEM1A (FEM-1 homolog a), also known as EPRAP (Prostaglandin E receptor 4-associated protein), is a 669 amino acid cytoplasmic protein belonging to the FEM-1 family. FEM1A is expressed in atheromata and macrophages derived from peripheral blood monocytes. It may function as part of an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex, serving as a substrate recognition subunit. FEM1A is implicated in anti-inflammatory signaling of macrophages via interaction with EP4 and is down-regulated in rhabdomyosarcoma. It is also considered a candidate gene for polycystic ovary syndrome.
