Product Specific Information

  • For immunofluorescence on yeast cells, use MCA-39C7 diluted 1:100 to 1:500.
  • For immunofluorescence on mammalian cells, use 1:50 to 1:100.

Target Information

The nuclear pore complex (NPC) is a protein assembly localized at the nuclear rim and mediates macromolecular transport between the nucleus and the cytoplasm.
NUP107 is part of the NUP107–160 hetero-oligomeric complex including NUP160, NUP133, NUP96, and yeast homolog sec13p.
While most of the NUP107–160 complex localizes to the nuclear pore, a fraction is found at kinetochores and spindle poles during mitosis, associated with Mad1, Mad2, Bub3, and Cdc20.
Immunodepletion of the NUP107–160 complex leads to defective spindle assembly, indicating multiple functions.
NUP107 has also been identified as an HIV dependency factor (HDF), suggesting potential as a drug target in HIV treatment.
Multiple isoforms of NUP107 exist.
