Product Specific Information

This 8B2 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse Aiolos, a 58-kDa member of the Ikaros family of zinc finger transcription factors. Aiolos expression is restricted to lymphoid cells, with the highest levels in B cells, followed by NK and T cells. It can form homodimers or heterodimers with Ikaros proteins and is involved in IL-2-mediated anti-apoptosis via Bcl-2 regulation. Aiolos plays a role in B cell development, particularly during the pre-BI to pre-BII transition.

Applications Reported: Intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Tested on mouse splenocytes using Foxp3/Transcription Factor Staining Buffer Set (Product # 00-5523-00). Recommended ≤1 µg/test.
Cell number per test: 10⁵–10⁸ cells (empirical).
Careful titration recommended for optimal performance.

Target Information

The Aiolos gene encodes a member of the Ikaros family of zinc-finger proteins (Ikaros, Aiolos, Helios), which are hematopoietic-specific transcription factors regulating lymphocyte development. Aiolos influences B lymphocyte proliferation and differentiation and participates in chromatin remodeling through homo- and heterodimer formation with Ikaros. At least six alternative transcripts encoding different isoforms have been described.
