Target Information

O6-Methylguanine-DNA Methyltransferase (MGMT) is a key DNA repair protein that confers resistance to chemotherapeutic alkylating agents in tumor cells. It protects normal cells from genotoxic and carcinogenic effects of DNA alkylation by removing alkyl groups from the O6 position of guanine. MGMT expression levels vary widely depending on cell type, tissue, species, and growth conditions, as well as among and within tumor types.
