For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step.
Recommended desalting method: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL (Product #89882).

Target Information

IFITM2 is an interferon-induced antiviral protein that inhibits viral entry into the host cell cytoplasm.
It allows endocytosis but prevents viral fusion and release of contents into the cytosol.
Active against multiple viruses including:

• Influenza A virus
• SARS coronavirus (SARS-CoV)
• Marburg virus (MARV)
• Ebola virus (EBOV)
• Dengue virus (DNV)
• West Nile virus (WNV)
• Human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1)
• Vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV)

IFITM2 can inhibit viral entry mediated by:

• Influenza virus hemagglutinin protein
• MARV and EBOV GP1,2
• SARS-CoV S protein
• VSV G protein

Additionally, IFITM2 induces cell cycle arrest and mediates apoptosis via caspase activation, independent of p53.
