Target Information
This gene belongs to the neurotrophin family, which regulates survival and differentiation of mammalian neurons. Its expression is ubiquitous and less affected by environmental signals. Unlike other neurotrophin knock-outs that are lethal during early development, NTF5-deficient mice show minor cellular deficits and develop normally to adulthood.
