The TLD-3A12 monoclonal antibody reacts with rat CD31 (platelet-endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1, PECAM-1, gpIIa). This 130-kDa surface protein is highly expressed on endothelial cells and at low levels on leukocytes and platelets. CD38 binds to CD31, and homotypic CD31 interactions are important in adhesion, cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, and signal transduction.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Tested on rat splenocytes at ≤0.25 µg/test. One test is defined as the amount of antibody to stain a cell sample in 100 µL final volume. Optimal titration is recommended for best performance.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Target Information
CD31 (PECAM-1) is an inhibitory coreceptor regulating T and B cell signaling through ITIM motifs that recruit protein-tyrosine phosphatases upon phosphorylation. It is expressed throughout the vascular system, mainly at cell junctions. The N-terminal Ig-like domain mediates homophilic binding, crucial for cell-cell interactions. CD31 functions in integrin-mediated adhesion, transendothelial migration, angiogenesis, apoptosis, immunoregulation, autoimmunity, macrophage phagocytosis, IgE-mediated anaphylaxis, and thrombosis, making it a key regulator in vascular biology.
