Product Specific Information
Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. Product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
This antibody is directed against human PNK protein. BLAST analysis suggests reactivity with human and chimpanzee proteins (100% homology). Expected cross-reactivity with PNK from dog, mouse, and rat (83% positive by BLAST). Cross-reactivity with other species has not been determined.
Target Information
Polynucleotide kinase (PNK) is a 57 kDa nuclear enzyme involved in DNA strand repair during replication, recombination, and response to DNA damage. It modifies DNA termini (5'-hydroxy and 3'-phosphate) for phosphorylation and dephosphorylation, facilitating subsequent repair by DNA polymerase-β and DNA ligase III. PNK plays a critical role in maintaining genomic stability in human cells.
