Product Specific Information

The MQ1-17H12 antibody reacts with human interleukin-2 (IL-2), a 17 kDa T cell growth factor and major immunoregulatory cytokine. This antibody is non-neutralizing.

• Applications Reported: Intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis.
• Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested by intracellular staining and flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells.
  • Use at 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test (100 µL final volume).
  • Suitable for 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Light Sensitivity:
This tandem dye is sensitive to photo-induced oxidation. Protect from light.

Target Information

Interleukin-2 (IL-2) is an immunomodulatory cytokine essential for proliferation of activated T cells and differentiation of B cells, NK cells, monocytes, and macrophages. IL-2 signals through the IL-2 receptor (IL-2R), a heterotrimeric complex whose gamma chain is shared with IL-4 and IL-7. Monoallelic expression of IL-2 in mature thymocytes represents a unique regulatory mechanism. Disruption of the IL-2 gene in mice results in colitis-like disease, highlighting its crucial role in immune regulation.
